Description: Create a pendant that combines torch-fired enamels with the ”icy cold” look of cubic zirconia. Students will play with both fire and ice in this day-long workshop. Additional session offered Tuesday, June 4 (B131657).
 
Students will Learn: The basics of torch-fired enameling, how to fabricate a thick-walled bezel, and how to tube-set a faceted stone. These skills will launch you into a new level of metalwork and jewelry creation.
 
Prerequisites: Sawing and soldering experience is recommended.
 
Project will be completed in class.
 
At least 18 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: Bench block; bench pin; fine-tip marker; rawhide hammer; needle file set: round, half-round, flat, triangle, square); jeweler’s saw and blades 2/0 or 3/0); metal shears.
 
Pliers: Flush side-cutting, standard flatnose, standard roundnose.
 
Materials in Kit: Copper sheet, chain, bezel wire; enamel powders, holding agent, sifters; dust mask; silver solder; flux; brushes; torches and fuel; sterling silver tubing; faceted CZ; handouts. Instructor will provide flexshafts, tools, and accessories for students to use in class.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
