Kumihimo Description: Now that you've conquered a single braid, what happens when you start putting braids within braids? This corkscrew bracelet is just the beginning of the design possibilities available to you when you start to bury one braid inside another.
Students will Learn: How to calculate the correct amount of finished braid for the inner core; how to determine the amount of supplies needed for the outer core; how to incorporate beads into either braid; how to bind and finish the nested braids.
Prerequisites: Proficient with making an 8-bobbin, basic round braid.
Project will not be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Scissors, tape measure, task lamp.
Materials in Kit: Kumihimo disk, eight tangle-free bobbins, silk thread or satin cord, ribbon for core braid, spacer beads, glue, end caps.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
