Wirework Description: Make a special three-dimensional bracelet with a cener ridge punctuated with quietly sparkling Swarovski crystals. We will review background information about wire, rings, metals, tools, print and internet resources, and techniques for opening and closing jump rings.
Students will Learn: Turtleback chain maille weave and how to add beads to this weave.
Prerequisites: Completion of a previous chain maille project. Experience with beading wire and crimping.
Project will not be completed in class.
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Cutters, magnifiers, reading glasses, work surface. task lamp.
Pliers: Bentnose, crimping, flatnose standard, two pairs of flatnose without grooves, small flatnose.
Materials in Kit: Jeweler’s bronze jump rings in two sizes for a 9-in. bracelet, Swarovski jet crystals, seed beads, beading wire, crimp beads, gold-color toggle clasp, instructions. Kits for an optional Argentium sterling bracelet will be available in class for an additional fee.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
