You will then cast a “sheet” of paper clay. Students will leave class with a mold and a sheet of finished, partially dried work.

Students will Learn: How to make a mold; how to cast a detailed impression; how to consider abstraction; how to view parts of a whole in a new context.

Project will be completed in class.

Supplies to Bring: Writing materials, at least 6-8 objects that you would like to have included in your mold (think in terms of varied and interesting, low-to-medium relief forms and textures).

Materials in Kit: Two-part mold making material, paper clay, hot plates. All supplies will be provided by the instructor with the exception of the objects necessary for your individualized plates.
