Wirework Description: Make several personalized toggles using washers, and cut out your own shapes from plain or patterned sheet metal with metal shears or the disk cutter provided in class. You can stamp, rivet, add eyelets, oxidize -- whatever you want!
Students will Learn: Stamping, riveting, setting eyelets, oxidizing metal, and how to use a disk cutter.
Prerequisites: Knowledge in use of basic jewelry tools.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Bench block, chasing hammer, flush-cut wire cutters, hammer, metal files, permanent marker (pointed), plastic hammer, ruler, metal hole punch, riveting hammer, metal shears, #0000 steel wool, cleaning pads.
Pliers: Chainnose without grooves, nylon-jaw wire straightener, standard roundnose.
Materials in Kit: Copper and/or brass metal sheet, patterned metal sheet, washers, eyelets and/or rivets, wire.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
