Description: The design of this simple bangle bracelet will teach students a faster method of creating Kumihimo beaded braids by using a Marudai - at least twice as fast as the foam disk. Emphasis will be placed on efficient braiding techniques while maintaining even tension.
 
Students will Learn: The basics of Kumihimo beaded braids; braiding around a core support to create more substantial braids; easy methods for cutting and texturing metal tubing to create custom bangle endings; and a technique for keeping adhesive where it belongs, inside the closure and out of the beaded braid.
 
Project will be completed in class.
 
At least 12 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: Beading mat, scissors, tape measure.
 
Materials in Kit: TOHO 6/0 seed beads, braiding cord, core support, big-eye needle, metal tubing, tube cutter, texture pad. Kits will be offered in three color choices. Marudai equipment will be provided for student use during class. The seed bead portion of this kit is underwritten by TOHO.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
