Peyote Stitch

Description: Create a beaded clasp with an invisible magnetic connection for Kumihimo beaded braids, bead crochet, or bead-woven projects. Although at first glance this seems to be a simple peyote tube, cleverly hidden engineering techniques give the clasp a sturdy, seamless connection without the use of glue. Additional session offered Saturday morning, June 8 (B131611).
 
Students will Learn: Most of the class will be devoted to instructor demonstrations with step-by-step instructions.
 
Prerequisites: Students must have experience with flat Peyote stitch working with cylinder beads (1.8 mm Aikos or 11/0 Delicas) in patterns.
 
Project will not be completed in class.
 
At least 16 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: #12 beading needles, beading mat, beading thread, beeswax, Fireline 6 lb. test, scissors, task lamp.
 
Materials in Kit: TOHO Aiko cylinder beads, magnets, support tube, instructions. The Aiko cylinder bead portion of this kit is underwritten by TOHO.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
