Peyote Stitch Description: Dabble in the magic of felting while creating a soft and luxurious bangle. Stitch a couple of inches of undulating tubular peyote to connect the felt's tapered ends within the beaded bead.
Students will Learn: Employ traditional felting techniques with the advantage of using a Turbo Felting Board to accelerate felting the fine merino wool fibers into a dense and flexible cane.
Prerequisites: Previous needlework is a plus but not necessary.
Project will not be completed in class.
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring: #11 beading needles, beading mat, Fireline 8 lb. test, scissors, task lamp, terry-cloth towel, 100 Japanese cylinder beads, 100 magatama or Japanese drop beads, 200 each of 6/0 and 8/0 seed beads, 200 each of two colors of 11/0 seed beads. Optional: Reading glasses.
Materials in Kit: Fine merino wool roving, beading armature option, masking tape, instructions. Instructor will provide use of felting equipment in class. Turbo Felting Board available for optional purchase of $30. Bead kits available for optional purchase of $20.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
