Description: Students will learn the basics of soutache and bead embroidery by completing a pair of bright earrings in a color combination of their choice.
 
Students will Learn: Soutache and bead embroidery techniques that include: directing and stacking soutache, shaping and tacking stitches, two-sided joins, ending a stack, backing, and edge beading (or brick stitch); how to incorporate traditional findings, like jump rings and earring wires, for a professional finish.
 
Project will not be completed in class.
 
At least 12 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: Scissors. Optional: Task lamp.
 
Materials in Kit: 6/0, 8/0, 11/0 seed beads; 4.5-in. x 4.5-in. square of Ultrasuede; imported soutache; 4 mm beads; two 6 mm beads or optional center beads; 8 mm Swarovski bicones; gold-filled or sterling earring wires (depending on kit color - surgical steel posts will be made available upon request); 6 mm soldered jump-rings; 2-in. head-pins; bobbin; Nymo B; #10-#12 beading needles.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
