Wirework Description: Make a fun pendant with contrasting textures. After weaving a pod from wire and filling it with your favorite beads, create a three-dimensional leaf using basic metalworking techniques.
Students will Learn: Low-tech chasing and repousse techniques, basket weaving, spiraling, and how to make tendrils.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Fretz chasing hammer #17, 100/180 grit emery board, flush wire cutters, 1.25 mm and 1.80 mm hole punches. metal shears, 6-in. sand bag. Optional: Chasing tools, dimpling tools.
Pliers: Chainnose, flatnose, roundnose, long roundnose.
Materials in Kit: Copper sheet metal and wire, beads, jump rings.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
