Wirework Description: Make this stunning necklace using simple wire-weaving techniques. Students will practice with copper wire first, and then create the piece in fine-silver with your choice of a stone or crystal pendant.
Students will Learn: Weaving skills needed to complete the project; how to shape the heavy-gauge wire and use a torch for drawing beads at the ends of wires.
Prerequisites: Familiarity with basic wireworking techniques and wire-wrapping tools. Weaving experience not necessary.
Project will not be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Fine-tip marker, flush-cut wire cutters, needle tool, ruler, task lamp, work surface, butane torch. Optional: Optivisors..
Pliers: Chainnose without grooves, flatnose without grooves, standard roundnose.
Materials in Kit: Copper wire for practice, fine-silver wire, Swarovski crystal or stone pendant, handout. The materials for the chain are not included in the kit.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
