Kumihimo Description: Braid a beautiful necklace using 3 mm Swarovski crystals and a Marudai. With the blended colors, you can wear this piece with almost anything.
Students will Learn: How to incorporate Swarovski crystals into Kumihimo designs; proper braiding cords for crystals; tension and finishing techniques.
Prerequisites: Experience with Kumihimo braiding on a Marudai is required.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Awl, beading mat, scissors, tape measure, task lamp, writing materials, Marudai with 8-weighted tama counterweights with hook or bag, chopstick, blue painter’s tape, third hand tweezers.
Pliers: Bentnose, chainnose without grooves, flush side-cutting, standard roundnose.
Materials in Kit: Braiding cord, 3 mm Swarovski crystals in six colors for a 19-in. braid, 20-gauge wire, toggle, end caps. A portion of this kit is underwritten by SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
