Ndebele Herringbone Description: Create a multi-strand bracelet with a soft, lightweight drape. This piece is stitched in flat Ndebele herringbone with seed beads and Tila beads, and the fine edging on each strand is created by using 15/0 beads on the edge to execute the turn. The length is easily adjusted by lengthening or shortening the length of the first and fifth section of each strand.
Students will Learn: Flat Ndebele herringbone using a small bead to execute the turn and tubular herringbone to fashion the toggle clasp. The focus will be to make several strands, make the toggle, and watch a demonstration of how to attach the toggle.
Project will not be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Beading mat, scissors, sticky notes, task lamp.
Materials in Kit: 11/0 seed beads in three colors, 15/0 Charlottes or seed beads in three colors, two-hole Japanese Tila beads, Fireline 6 or 8 lb. test, #12 beading needle, microcrystalline wax. Kits will be available in several colors.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
