June 7 • 8:30am-4:00pm (with 1.5 hr. break) - (6 hours)Level: Intermediate Maximum Class Size: 16 Class Fee: $160.00  Metal Clay Description: Decorative cones and caps made from metal clay are the perfect way to customize your jewelry creations. Students will design a pair of fine-silver cones, a pair of bold bead caps, and a matching S-hook clasp -- each suited to your personal style. Students will Learn: Metal clay forming, shaping, texturing, dry assembly and extruding; patina masking techniques; unique technique for applying texture to the S-hook clasp. Prerequisites: Previous metal clay experience required. Project will be completed in class. At least 16 years old. Supplies to Bring: 25g Art Clay Silver 650 (no substitutions), Art Clay Silver 650 paste, Art Clay Silver 650 syringe with green tip, ball-tipped stylus, craft knife, sandpaper, roller, graduated slat set, underlay, candle warmer, polishing cloth, rubber block, ruler, cutter/scraper, Burt's Bees or similar hand salve, silicon shaping tool, small pointed paint brush, snake roller, Teflon sheets. Optional: Rubber stamps, stainless steel extruder with disks. Materials in Kit: Circle cutters. The instructor will provide clay forms, rubber stamps, freezer paper, stainless steel extruder, plastic wrap, olive oil, and firing supplies for use in class. Limit: One seat per person per class. |
