Wirework Description: What says fashion more than an armful of bangles; and what says luxe more than SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS? Pair steel wire with fabulous crystal mesh and a little linen stitching for an awesome over-the-top bling-a-ding-ding look.
Students will Learn: Steel wire forming and forging including a hook-and-eye closure; mesh application by stitching onto formed wire with linen thread to create a bangle.
Project will not be completed in class.
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Ball-peen hammer, bench block, cutters, metal files, ruler, safety glasses, task lamp, writing materials. Do not bring tools you intend to use again on fine wire. Instructor will have some tool kits, including heavy-duty cutters, available for purchase in class. Optional: Magnifiers.
Pliers: Chainnose, standard flatnose, standard roundnose. Pliers need to be dedicated to steel wire use.
