Description: Kumihimo, the art of Japanese braiding, can look intimidating but it is actually easy and fun. Students will use a low-cost loom and economical fibers and beads to create special jewelry that replicates the look of bead crochet. Additional sessions offered Wednesday afternoon, June 5 (B131632), and Sunday morning, June 9 (B131633).
 
Students will Learn: Basic kumihimo techniques, which materials to use for different looks, project planning, how to add beads, and finishing options.
 
Project will be completed in class.
 
At least 12 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: Beading mat, reading glasses, tape measure, task lamp.
 
Materials in Kit: Kumihimo loom (foam), C-Lon, seed beads, glue, Big Eye needle, crimp beads, beading wire,clasp, bobbins.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
