Wirework Description: Using thin wire and a looping technique, students will learn how to weave a surface layer, a structure, or an embedded layer for a variety of jewelry designs. Copper sheeting, a Dee Dee Skigen (Banyan Bay Studio) handmade wood bead, and beach glass will be used as bases for this unique technique. Students should complete at least two pieces during class.
Students will Learn: Looping, metalwork, and wirework techniques. Patinas and cold connections will also be covered.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Anvil pillow, ball-peen hammer, bench block, cutters, flush-cut wire cutters, hammer, metal snips or cutters, wooden ring clamp.
