Wirework Description: Make your beads into beautiful earrings with this riveting technique. Take it to the next level by making your own head pins, balled pins, and rivets. Students will Learn: Basic torch and forging skills, and wire wrapping. Learn to make head pins, balled head pins, rivets, and ear wires with a torch, as well as mass finishing techniques for the findings you make. Then bring together all of the skills learned for a beautiful final piece.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Bench block, small hammer, 3-ft. 20-gauge sterling silver wire, 3-ft. 22-gauge sterling silver wire. All supplies are optional. Bring the tools you have that you love to use. Instructor will have tools/supplies to share in class.
Pliers: Flush side-cutting, nylon-jaw wire straightener, small flatnose, standard needlenose, stepped roundnose.
Materials in Kit: Sterling silver wire, stone beads, pvc wire-wrapping mandrels.
