Description: Add a “twist” to an elegant ring with a fun, kinetic mechanism. A forged and fabricated ginkgo leaf actually spins around the bezel-set center stone. This ring is sure to surprise and impress your friends, and provide many hours of distracted delight.
 
Students will Learn: How to saw, forge, solder, construct a ring, file, sand, patina, finish, and bezel-set a stone in this intermediate metals class.
 
Prerequisites: Sawing, soldering, ring construction.
 
Project will be completed in class.
 
At least 18 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: Ball-peen hammer, beeswax, bench block, bench pin, jeweler's saw, 3/0 saw blades, metal files, rawhide hammer, safety glasses, tin snips, wire snips, wooden and metal ring mandrels, large metal ball punch, burnisher or round stone setting punches, metal cross peen hammer. Instructor will have tools available to share in class.
 
Pliers: Flatnose nylon jaw, standard needlenose, standard roundnose.
 
Materials in Kit: Sterling sheet, wire, tubing; bezel cup; consumables; gemstone; instructions with template.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
