Description: Create dynamic composition and layers of dramatic texture in this comprehensive introduction to metals. Students will learn to incorporate important jewelry design elements as they texture metal with simple garage tools, jewelry tools, and the rolling mill. Additional session offered Saturday, June 8 (B131652).


 
Students will Learn: How to practice texturing on copper before creating a cuff in sterling with many students finishing both as bracelets; techniques in riveting, bezel-setting, patina, and finishing.
 
Project will be completed in class.
 
At least 16 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: Ball-peen hammer, bench block, flush-cut wire cutters, metal files, vice, metal burnisher. Optional: Metal stamps, texturing tools.
 
Pliers: Flatnose nylon jaw.
 
Materials in Kit: Copper sheet and wire, sterling sheet, bezel cup, gemstone, emery paper, polishing cloth, instructions.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
