Description: Here’s a great way to remember the 2013 Bead&Button Show! Create your own souvenir necklace-and-earring set using “locally grown” beach stones from Lake Michigan accented with steel wire.
 
Students will Learn: How to bend and forge wire to form jewelry findings that can be used in the finished piece or in any other jewelry project; how to repeat a shape using just basic pliers, not a jig.
 
Project will be completed in class.
 
At least 16 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: Bench block, chasing hammer, flush-cut wire cutters, metal files, paper, pen, pencils, ruler. Optional: Jeweler’s saw and blades, wax.
 
Pliers: Chainnose without grooves, standard roundnose. Optional: 3-step roundnose.
 
Materials in Kit: Drilled river rocks, waxed cotton, earring wires, steel wire in variours gauges, 4 mm beads, dowel.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
