Glass and Lampworking Description: Create attractive hand-woven leaves using natural wheat straws of various hues. This technique is easy to learn and can be used to create earrings and necklaces. The instructor will display numerous variations in class for inspiration. Additional sessions offered Friday evening, June 7 (B131642), and Saturday morning, June 8 (B131643).
Students will Learn: The leaf fan weaving technique with variations on size, shape, and hue. Instructor will bring prepared straws of various hues for students to experiment with color, design, and different methods of assembly using various types of beads and embellishments. Students wishing to create their own original design will be encouraged and happily assisted.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Macramé board, roller/brayer, ruler, scissors, T-pins, terry-cloth towel, work surface, small sharp scissors, tan or gold colored quilting thread. Optional: Reading glasses, task lamp.
Materials in Kit: Wheat straws of various hues, lengths, and diameters; beads of various sizes; wooden skewer; necklace cording.
