Ndebele Herringbone Description: Stack two herringbone flowers made with graduated sizes of seed beads, pressed glass leaves, and daggers on a filigree wreath. Add a special lampworked bead for the center, then turn the completed flower into a brooch or make it a focal piece for a necklace or bracelet.
Students will Learn: How to make two kinds of herringbone flowers using seed beads in four sizes and pressed glass beads; and how to assemble them on the piece of filigree. One flower is made with flat circular herringbone and the other with tubular herringbone.
Prerequisites: Familiarity with herringbone, either flat or tubular, is highly recommended. If you know tubular or flat circular herringbone you should be able to finish this project in class.
