Description: Working at a pace that is comfortable for you, students will learn the foundation stitches of bead embroidery and create an ornate, Bollywood-inspired panel that can be finished as a wall piece or as part of a beaded handbag or garment. Learn about bead, needle, thread, and foundation selection through group and individualized instruction.
 
Students will Learn: The foundation stitches of bead embroidery: seed stitch, curved and straight-line backstitch, stacked stitch; how to incorporate bugle beads and crystals; how to select supplies; what to consider when designing.
 
Prerequisites: Students should be comfortable hand-stitching with a needle and thread.
 
Project will not be completed in class.
 
At least 16 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: #11-#12 beading needles, bead dish, beading mat, scissors, pen. Optional: Task lamp.
 
Materials in Kit: Glass seed and bugle beads, gold seed beads, Swarovski crystals, cotton print fabric fused to Peltex foundation, Nymo D beading thread, instructions.
 
Limit: One seat per person per class.
