Description: Thomas Mann delivers a succinct understanding of one of the primary tools of metalsmithing and guarantees students will be sawing like champs in under three hours. Learn what it takes to saw precise designs out of everything from paper to steel and leave class with several finished charms and mini slot-sculptures. Additional sessions offered Sunday evening, June 2 (B131222), and Tuesday evening, June 4 (B131711).
 
Students will Learn: All about the anatomy of a jeweler’s saw; how to use the saw including sawing techniques, ergonomics, troubleshooting, and more.
 
Project will be completed in class.
 
At least 16 years old.
 
Supplies to Bring: Writing materials. Optional: Optivisors.
 
Materials in Kit: Jeweler's saw and 2/0 blades, metal, Plexiglas, paper templates, “Demystifying the Jeweler's Saw” DVD by Thomas Mann.
