June 5 • 8:00am-11:00am - (3 hours)Level: All Levels Maximum Class Size: 12 Class Fee: $115.00  Wirework Description: Build an arsenal of chain links with over twelve different forms and or patterns from various gauges of steel wire. Create basic shapes, whimsical forms, and vintage-inspired utility chain styles that will fit your mood and be your very own design. Additional session offered Thursday, June 6 B130907 Students will Learn: Cold connecting chain making, Now That's a Jig wirework, wire manipulation, and steel wirework. The goal of this class is the process of making different links and not a specific necklace. However, the links can be connected to make an eclectic, one-of-a-kind piece all your own. Project will not be completed in class. At least 18 years old. Supplies to Bring: Ball-peen hammer, bench block, cutters, metal files, ruler, safety glasses, task lamp, writing materials. Do not bring tools you intend to use again on fine wire. Instructor will have some tool kits including heavy-duty cutters, available for purchase in class. Optional: Magnifiers. Pliers: Bentnose, chainnose, crimping, standard roundnose. Pliers need to be dedicated to steel wire. Materials in Kit: Steel wire in various gauges, steel wool, wire brushes, ear plugs, cleaning cloth, Renaissance wax sample, marking material. Limit: One seat per person per class. |
