Wirework Description: Create this stunning copper cuff as you learn to weave beads with fine-gauge wire onto a heavy-gauge wire frame. This cuff is “BeJuled” with freshwater pearls, jade, daisy spacers, and Swarovski crystals. Additional session held Saturday, June 8 (B130016).
Students will Learn: How to create a heavy-gauge wire frame, add columns of beads to the frame, and then weave 2-4 mm beads into the columns. Students will also learn tips and tricks for working with fine-gauge wire.
Prerequisites: Knowledge in use of basic jewelry tools.
Project will not be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Beading mat, flush-cut wire cutters, permanent marker (pointed), ruler, task lamp, blue painter’s tape.
Pliers: Chainnose without grooves, standard flatnose, nylon-jaw wire straightener.
Materials in Kit: Various gauges of dead soft, antique copper wire; freshwater pearls; Swarovski crystals; jade beads; Bali antique copper daisy spacers.
