Wirework Description: With an emphasis on the impact of negative space, form and wrap large-gauge wire into a unique bangle highlighted with beads and hardware components. This design is easy for beginners to complete. Additional session offered Friday, June 7 (B130011).
Students will Learn: How to twist wire; how to make a kuchi bead (coiled coil) and other handmade wire beads; how to incorporate various sizes and shapes of wire into your work.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Fine-tip marker, flush-cut wire cutters, metal files, ruler, work surface.
Pliers: Flatnose nylon jaw, flatnose standard, long roundnose, small flatnose, standard needlenose.
Materials in Kit: Copper and sterling beads; 14 gauge round copper wire; various small gauge copper, sterling and brass wires; spacers; hardware components.
